Images are the backbone of engaging websites, but they can also be your site’s biggest performance bottleneck. For small and medium-sized businesses
You don’t know what you don’t know – “everyday is a school day”
When it comes to search engine optimisation (SEO) and managing websites, there’s always more to learn. The saying “you don’t know what you don’t know” is so apt.
The rules of the game are always changing as search engines and user behaviour evolve.
Every day really is a school day in this industry. Embracing that mindset of continuous learning and adaptability is key.
With a diverse background spanning executive marketing corporate roles, entrepreneurship, as well as working within a marketing agency, I bring a unique blend of expertise to my SEO services
Prior to starting my own company, I served as Head of Marketing (Board) of a large South African corporate. In this role, I contributed to setting and implementing strategic policies and alliances, full responsibility for the marketing budget, IT (SAA Voyager and SunAir), and relevant day-to-day operations.
I managed high-profile sponsorships (SA Rugby and SA Cricket amongst others), ensuring brand compliance and delivery. This allowed me to work closely with sales teams organising major corporate and travel industry events to attract local and international business.
My corporate experience provided invaluable business management expertise in a large environment, which I later applied to my entrepreneurial venture, Dom Bene. As the sole Managing Member, I established and grew this business to become a leading manufacturer and distributor of baby linen, soft furnishings, and accessories, catering to large chains and independent retailers nationwide.
Of interest here would be the set-up of my first website – I taught myself WordPress and set up my own B2C e-commerce website (before YouTube was even a thing), as well as trading on Takealot.
A significant achievement was securing the sole South African syndicated licensee rights for the iconic Beatrix Potter and Peanuts (Snoopy) brands in the baby linen and soft furnishings categories.
Today, my personalised approach ensures that your unique needs are met with tailored solutions that deliver lasting value.
“I’ve known Cheryl since she created my first art gallery site many years ago when she was building websites. I was extremely happy with it and invited her to create another site of mine, a website focused on healing alternatives. It’s a lovely site and does exactly what I want it to.
Cheryl is a real innovator and a pleasure to work with. Our long association is a testament to her warm-hearted professionalism and the fact that she always goes the extra mile to make sure everything is as good as it should be. She’s also a formidable researcher and pays great attention to the sort of details which actually create results.”
